Nail it! 2007 : A very cool program brought in by Benoît for the Scouts who were not building potato cannons. THE CHALLENGE: balance 10 4-inch nails on the head of another 4-inch nail driven into a block of wood, without using any other materials and without having any of the 10 nails touch the block of wood. Unadulterated Camp 2007 : This was a camp held at Tamaracouta in which the kids were on their own for the weekend, with no direct adult supervision. They were responsible for the planning, shopping, meals, camp set-up and activities. Check out Steve's really cool program: they made molds out of clay, then melted lead over a campfire and poured the molten lead into the molds to make castings. WAY TO GO!!! Also check out the sauna/sweat lodge they made. As you can see, it really worked.

1st Aid with Hudson Fire Dept. 2006 : Chief Milot and his crew, including Rover Rosie Bentley, came in to give us a fantastic evening on first aid. They set up a rotation of four stations, each of which dealt with different first aid topics. The session was really fun, and helped us prepare for our Wilderness Rescuse Camp. Fall Camp 2006 : We fully felled a field-full of Fall trees. Every single Scout started a fire with nothing but three matches, and lots of guys had some left over to chew on with pride. The Patrol Leaders taught the skill sessions. All that, plus tacos and Twizzlers. Oh, ya: don't forget to check out the smoke signals! (My eyes are still watering.)
