1stCAV  > Scouts 2005-2006 > Our Leaders 2006
MEET OUR LEADERS. We have a great Troop and a fantastic program, and one of the main reasons is the quality of our leaders. These are all very skilled people who care about kids, know how to have fun, and invest the time and effort to make good things happen.

1stCAV > BENOÎT BLAIS: Benoît is one of our founding leaders, and has been actively involved in Cavagnal Scouting since 1999, first with Cubs, and now with Scouts. He also served two years as our Group Committee Chairman. Benoît brings with him a vast experience in camping of all types, and some of his specialities include kayaking, hiking and photography. Some (most?) of the best pictures on this site were taken and edited by him. Benoît is a senior manager at Banque Nationale.
1stCAV > PAUL BOUDREAU: Paul is a veteran Scouter who joined as a Beaver leader in 1998, and his whole family, all three kids and his wife Amanda, have been active in the program. He is maybe best know as Akela, where he has led the Cub Pack for 6 years. Paul likes to teach, to play and to be outdoors. After several years as a contractor, Paul has started a new career with the office of Hudson's Town Engineer.
1stCAV > DON GILLIS: A member of our Troop since 2004 and a former Cub leader, Don has a broad range of talents. An avid sailor, he organizes Hudson Yacht Club's annual Fruit Bowl regatta for kids. He is an astronomy buff, a dedicated kayaker, an orienteerer and a wilderness camping enthusiast. He also has experience as a facilitator and has helped us, as a Troop, plan a number of activities. Professionally, Don is a consultant in a variety of Information Technology fields.
1stCAV > PAT PAPP: Pat is one of the Troop's founders and our longest-serving leader, having been involved in Cavagnal since 1993. A generation of Cubs will remember her fondly as Raksha. Pat comes from a Scouting family. Her husband Emerich is a former Scoutmaster in Hudson, and her son James went through the program and is now a Rover and a Venturer advisor. Pat is in Scouting for the pure joy of it. Her own kids have long since graduated, but she continues to be involved because she enjoys spending time with the kids, and the feeling is mutual: Pat has a special camaraderie with the Scouts. When she is not Scouting, Pat works in a day care center in Hudson.
1stCAV > DOUG PEETS: Doug is one of the founders of the Troop who became a leader in 2003 after being actively involved as a parent. A nationally certified woodsmanship instructor, he learned his outdoor skills in 10 years at Kamp Kanawana, just upstream from Tamaracouta. He has 12 years of classroom experience as a debating and public speaking coach at Selwyn House School and was very active in both the provincial and national debating associations. He loves to teach, to play and to have fun, especially if it's at cards! Doug has his own business in mortgage lending and capital management.
1stCAV > JEREMY PRICE-WILLIAMS: While new to our Troop, Jeremy is not new to Scouting, having been a Cub and a Scout himself. He has a backgound in computers, is a private pilot and loves all forms of radio-controlled vehicles. Jeremy is a guy who loves to have fun, and his enthusiasm shines through in his activities with the Troop. He owns and operates the Airbounce Amusements company.
